Somehow yesterday the system decided to create a new instance of my computer (new ID, new log, etc.)

What had been running fine under one id is now two ids:

882874 BSLRWB1 0.00 0.00 GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 1 4 Mar 2007 12:05:58 UTC

792074 BSLRWB1 154.73 16,923.82 GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 18 3 Mar 2007 14:57:17 UTC

How do I get back to one ID for my computer?

New ID on same computer

Not sure why E@H has duplicated your computer, possibly an update of BOINC? It shouldn’t happen but it does. The scheduler is very conservative because it can really screw things up if it is assigning WUs to two computers thinking they are one. The way around it is to go to your account on E@H. Click on “view for “Computers on this account, click on the ID number for one of the duplicated computers and then at the bottom of the next page select “merge this computer. If all is working well you will see the other duplicate. Put a tick next to it and click “merge hosts, all should be back to normal. Occasionally E@H will not let you merge the hosts because it doesn’t see them as similar. You won’t lose any credits and after 30 days the old ID number will drop of your list of current computers. Dave.
