We are now testing the new 'coincidence' routine. This has reduced the run time of the coincidence step in the worst-case tests from about six hours to four minutes, and memory use by a significant factor. If all goes well, new applications should be available this week. We are also now testing a modified scheduler that (1) provides better feedback messages to hosts that are not getting work because they lack disk space, and (2) deletes data files from hosts when they run short of disk space.

I believe this is just the "Phase III" part (the part that is at almost 100% and sometimes stays there for a long time). So, this will help only in specific cases.
Nevertheless, I'll volunteer to test it a week before PeterV gets it. ;cD

Well, guys, no need to be so eager - an app that runs a Result in shorter time will also claim lower credit for it.

... but also will do more work during the same period, thus getting the same credit ;)

That's correct.

Exactly. For 'almost all' WU the 'Phase III' step only lasts tens of seconds or a minute. This should make the run time small even for the 'odd' WUs that have been causing trouble.
