We have installed a new WYSIWYG editor, CKEditor, for our Website. It has many similar features to the previous editor, but the interface is a bit different, but hopefully cleaner. If you notice any problems, please let us know.

I appears to me that spell

I appears to me that spell checker is not turned on by default and that it must be toggled "on" (enable scayt") on every editor screen.  If I am correct how to your turn it on globally?

Hi Rob,auto-spellchecking

Hi Rob,

auto-spellchecking can only be enabled globally right now. We chose not to do that because the spellchecker uses a cloud service and we value your privacy. We're still considering our options to find the sweet spot here. As soon as we're settled we'll provide an update on this, incl. a revised privacy policy (if needed).

Cheers,
Oliver

Update: we replaced the

Update: we replaced the (formerly inactive) cloud-based spell checker with the native browser-based checker. This way there won't be any privacy issues even with spell checking automatically enabled.

a lot the bbcode tags do not work properly. the forum is auto-formating hyperlinks which sometimes breaks trying to post pictures, as well as formatting being applied inside [code] tags. code tags should block all formatting.

Hm, we did test bbcode but might have missed some. Anything else besides [code]?

Thanks!

trying to post an image using

trying to post an image using bbcode usually breaks also. the forum auto-hyperlinking urls tends to treat the [/img] portion of the tag as a part of the url, breaking the function of the tag. and you have to go back and edit the post to fix it. it' probably best to remove this auto-hyperlinking feature.

example:

It actually seems that the edit function is breaking things.  I had a [ url ] tag which I typed the open and close then pasted the link and when it first posted it was correct.  I had to make an edit for a typo elsewhere in the post and then the edit function took the ending [ /url ] tag and made it part of the link.  Not good.

The browser based

The browser based spellchecking seems to work as it highlights misspelled words but the usual right click on the misspelled word brings up a WYSIWYG editor menu instead of the normal browser menu, so the misspelled word can't be corrected using the browser dictionary.
Testing multiple browsers gives the result that it only works in IE11 and Edge, normal right click menu with word suggestions.
Chrome, Firefox and PaleMoon doesn't give a normal right click menu and thus no easy way to correct the misspelled word.
