hi everyone,
I just upgraded my graphics card a few days ago and changed from a nVidia GTX 460 to a ATI R9 270X.Everything went smoothly, however it seems that the BRP5 ATI-Open CL application only wants to use the GPU very rarely. I'm using the most recent driver at the moment (14.10.1006-140417a-171099C) and the utilization looks like this:
It seems that I only have this issue with this application on this GPU, on other systems with other ATI cards it's running great.
The spike is basically the only time during this time frame where the GPU is used.
The WU was initially estimated for a duration of 2-3h.
Any idea what could be the cause here? Please let me know if you require additional information.
Thanks a lot in advance

New ATI card + no GPU use for BRP5 application

You changed from NVIDIA to ATI. Check your "einstein@home preferences" for your account a make sure the the "use ATI GPU" is checked. It might be checked for NVIDIA only. Also make sure that the jobs for "this preference" is check for BRP5.
[EDIT] If you changed these values they take effect the next time your PC connects to the E@H servers. You can force this by going into Boinc Manager and "clicking" "update" for the E@H project.

Hi robl, thanks for the response.
It looks like the preferences are already as they should be. I now restarted the boinc client and after it was started again, at least for 20 seconds the GPU was used. I also tried to limit the CPU cores to be used 75% max, but after the client got the info from the server, nothing actually changed.
Please post the ~20 lines

Please post the ~20 lines from the BOINC event log after a restart so we can see if there is any information in it that might help solve your issue.
