It'll be a full update. 7.2.42 can be tested for Windows. A version for Linux, FreeBSd and Mac is to follow, but the problem here is that the developers have already updated their machines to wxWidgets 3.0, while BOINC 7.2 works still with 2.8; so Rom is busy building several virtual machines with which he can build new versions of BOINC 7.2
Edit: although you can also just update BOINC Manager with an older hotfix. Steps on how to do that, are here.
Thankyou
BOINC 7.2.42 is recommended since yesterday. You can download it. Were it not that the links from the download page are botched... really, no one checks what they do?
I honestly can't remember why I wanted to look at the event file.
Thanks.
Well the reason was that you had to stop Einstein because a friend was coming over to do some computer maintenance, is that all done? And is the machine working better now? Do you still need to stop crunching tasks or are you plunging along again?
The reasons to view the event log/message tab can be many and in this case it was to find out where Boinc was installed so that the files could be saved if your helping friend decided that your computer had to be reinstalled. If that's not the case the you probably have no need to look in the event log/message tab anymore.
Edit:
Ageless beat me to it and gave the correct answer about the event log, you still have the message tab in advanced view so until you update Boinc forget about the event log. And add to that if Boinc is running fine on your computer you probably do not need to update it.

You're running BOINC 6.8.44, which still has the Messages tab in Advanced View. You don't have a separate window.
