World Community Grid (WCG) BOINC is bog standard BOINC, only with a WCG skin and some local checks (checking IBM servers instead of Google, for one).
GridRepublic (no space) (GR) is bog standard BOINC, only with the GR skin and you're using GR to attach to projects etc. GridRepublic is a BOINC account manager, just as BAM! is one.
Progress thru Processors (PtP) is bog standard BOINC, only with a PtP skin and it's exclusively available through the PtP Facebook page.
Charity Engine (CE) is bog standard BOINC, only with the CE skin and you're using the GridRepublic supplied BOINC version. You attach to projects through GR.
Then there is a Sony version of BOINC, which is a bog standard version of BOINC, that's only to be found on VAIO computers. Once activated, it will use WCG exclusively.
And lastly there's BOINC.
WCG is up to 7.2.41
GR and CE are up to 7.0.77
PtP is up to 7.0.77
All of these versions of BOINC are made by Berkeley (compiled by Rom).
It looks like something similar might be starting to happen in the Android world as well, with SIMAP teaming up with Samsung and GPUGrid teaming up with HTC.
At least all of those are bog standard Android BOINC. Doesn't matter what they put on the tin. I haven't dabbled that far yet, but can Android BOINC be reskinned?
Anyway, release version is 7.2.41, latest beta is 7.3.5
Thanks Ageless for clearing that up, I knew there where different versions of Boinc made to help promote the system but didn't have a clue as to what the differences was.
You guys are the funniest, wittiest, smartest, and lovable bunch of people I've ever met online, or anywhere for that matter.
So much thanks for all you do for me all the time.....(bowing and kissing floor next to Mike, and puffing my chest out like Jord, and watching Holmis, Gary Roberts and Haselgrove explaining what everybody is doing wrong and the dire consequences of what might happen if Grid doesn't get the attention it deserves, maybe in Technical Issues or Science, before some tragedy befalls Enstein.
GridRepublic loves you too. All of a sudden, it has become famous in "Problems."
Accepts award. Nods. Smiles. Is photographed. Strolls off stage left with Kylie Minogue on arm. Trips & falls head first into potplant. Audience applauds.
Cheers, Mike.

Looks like the clients might be branded, too.

I'm sorry for the misinformation. Charity Engine was already up to 7.0.78, and since last night has been upped to 7.0.79
I'll go chastise myself in a quiet corner now. :)
