I have been getting "Client Errors" since March 12 and have no idea what changed. I had previously run trouble-free for almost a year. I have no experience trouble-shooting, since I've had no trouble before. I've tried "Reset project" in the BOINC client and I've upgraded my client to the latest (5.8.15). Don't know what else to try. Thanks for any help you can provide.

WU download error: couldn't get input files:

h1_0508.0_S5R1
-200

was there any change in your internet connection?
Firewall? Operating System fixes or upgrade?

Error '-200' means 'ERR_WRONG_SIZE', it seems the download gets interrupted somehow...

I am not aware of any changes

I am not aware of any changes of the kind you mention. The most recent OS update (to deal with the upcoming Daylight Saving Time change) occurred a full month before the BOINC/Einstein@home problems began.

Here's some new information. I looked at the stderrdae.txt file in the BOINC work area (/Library/Application Support/BOINC Data). Everything looks OK until this appears:

Quote:

2007-03-12 11:47:50 [Einstein@Home] Checksum or signature error for grid_0660_h_T16_S5RI.dat
2007-03-12 11:47:51 [Einstein@Home] Unrecoverable error for result h1_0653.0_S5R1__8469_S5RIa_0 (WU download error: couldn't get input files:

grid_0660_h_T16_S5RI.dat
-200

)
2007-03-12 11:49:05 [Einstein@Home] Checksum or signature error for grid_0660_h_T16_S5RI.dat
2007-03-12 11:49:06 [Einstein@Home] Unrecoverable error for result h1_0653.0_S5R1__8468_S5RIa_0 (WU download error: couldn't get input files:

grid_0660_h_T16_S5RI.dat
-200

)

... [Dozens more similar repetitions follow]

Does any of this help?

P.S. Concerning my client upgrade: although I had downloaded the new client, I had not yet installed it - oops! However, I HAVE now installed 5.8.15 and am waiting for the "Communication deferred" period to end (another 9 hrs to go).

Larry, because your machine has had problems in the past two weeks, its daily quota of work has been reduced to one workunit. Please be patient for a day or two and see if your computer starts getting new work. Once this happens and the work is completed successfully, the daily quota will quickly climb back up to normal values.
