messages from server

Hi,

E@H started a new science run with new applications. You need to remove app_info.xml from your BOINC/projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ directory.
(Stop BOINC first.)

Not true, I'm afraid. You get these messages even when you don't have an app_info.xml - see this post in Number crunching.

The clue is in:

Message from server: Sending work from other applications

and obsidian's remark about downloading new files.

But you're right, that it's to do with the new science run and the new applications - there are some teething problems. But it should run normally, even with the odd messages: you've already returned a good number of the new results, and you can see that the 'credit granted' is much higher than the 'credit claimed'.

no file named "app_info.xml"

no file named "app_info.xml" exists in that folder or anywhere else on my disc.

Don't worry about that. You don't need it, and you're crunching well without it.

No, it definitely has nothing to do with your BOINC version! It's a server-side problem. And you should wait until 6.2.17 is declared stable again. Currently 5.10.45 is recommended.

Heh... I'm starting to

Heh... I'm starting to understand why the 5.10.x releases made it all the way up to minor revision 45.

Personally, I'm waiting to see 6.2.x get to about that same level before I'm going to take the plunge. :-\
