Memory use and Einstein

Hello -- didn't see this discussed. I encountered a problem regarding memory use with Einstein. It seems a process -- "hsgamma_FGRP_1 or something like that grabs a LOT of memory when running Einstein CPU units. I found that if I removed Einstein from the workstation, that memory was released and the process stopped.
Can anyone offer any insights as to what was going on here?

Some applications here require quite a big chunk of RAM (over 1GB per task). You need to evaluate how many tasks the computer can run at once (how much RAM it has). If you are using your computer for something else at the same time you may want to leave a larger amount of memory free so that the computer doesn't slow down too much.

Thanks, that confirms what I was seeing -- for this particular computer the memory hit does get in the way of other applications when that computer is in use. I will work around that.

What I am seeing often is Einsteins "Waiting for memory". At this moment on this machine, I have three in that state. It puzzles me because RAMMap shows there is 5+ Gigs unused.

I did have a problem from time to time with 8 MB. I have an 8 core processor and 2 GPU's running. I often did run out of memory. So I boosted my RAM to 64MB. Einstein is now running happily with about 9-9.5 MB

I run a twin Xeon machine with a 980 card and 12GB Ram with no problems. But the utilisation % is quite heavy with this project.
But I would like to know is it best to have the memory clock high or low here? Low reduces heat.
