I have a try with the 5.6.4 version for the Mac. After several hours calculating with 1 of 2 cores at 50 % BOINC is still running and working (throttled - working - throttled - working). This is ok, but after some hours there is no more progress (%) to be found even if BOINC seems to go on working, will say, the % value goes static without to chance anymore until I restart BOINC.

Mac meta 5.6.4 problem
)
That's a bug with the core client. There's a fix that's been checked in for that.
You'll need to grab the latest alpha version from the download page (5.7.5). That solves the problem.
I had the same issue on my Windows machine.
Hope this helps.

It is strange, but I have the same problems with the 5.7.5 version today.
Ok. I talked with David

Ok. I talked with David Anderson from the BOINC development team.
He would like you to set some flags so he can debug. Directions below.
When it happens again find the stderrdae.txt file and copy them. You can then email the logs to me at KSMarksPsych at yahoo dot com. I'll forward them to David.
Kathryn
(Thanks for helping debug this.)

I need some more help to set up the debug mode. I use the Macintosh Version of BOINC. The install prcedure made a BOINC program in "applications", but no BOINC-directory. I can not find the cc_config.xml on my Mac, I had a look with Spotlight for it.

Ummm...
Most likely you don't have that file. So you need to create it.
Is what's in "applications" a folder?
If so then that's the same thing as the directory. Create that xml file using a plain text editor (not Word or the Mac equivalent). And just drop it in that folder.
If you have any more questions, I'll have to get a Mac person to help. I haven't used a Mac in 5 years.

Try looking in Macintosh HD
)
Try looking in Macintosh HD --> Library --> Application Support --> BOINC Data. If it's not there, use the code Kathryn provided to create it using TextEdit, then save as cc_config.xml in the BOINC Data folder.
Hope this helps.
