The interesting part in this is the fact that I get the download errors only on my Windows machine. The Macs download WUs without problems.
Are you still getting these?
AFAIK the problem had to do with the number of connections opened by a client, i.e. the number of files that have to be downloaded for new work - maybe your're downloading a new data file on Windows, which is (currently) not necessary on the Macs?

Hi Bernd,
no, this morning at 7:11 UTC it downloaded 2 WUs without any problems.

The important is, your Macs is running BOINC v5.4.9, and therefore don't have the download-bug that Trux-v5.3.12 has...
For anyone interested, the download-bug behaves this way:
1; If for any reason a download times-out, example due to download-server #1 doesn't respond in a timely manner, especially if you're behind a proxy but can also happen if not using proxy, an error-message like "connection timed-out" can be returned and this error-message is written to disk as part of the downloaded file.
2; Connecting to download-server #2, continues from there download left off, after the error-message...
3; Then download finished, it immediately errors-out, since the file contains one or more error-messages, and therefore isn't correct.
v5.3.15 and later BOINC-clients has fixed this bug, so my recommendation to anyone having download-problems is to upgrade to v5.4.9 or later.

I'm still having them and
)
I'm still having them and this time I tried connecting only one machine at first to rule out too many connections and possible timeouts.
It quickly got the same Download errors, all by itself :(
(the BOINCview Transfer list does not show any other Downloads than WorkUnits)
Other Projects or other Activities (e.g. Downloads, Surfing, Online Gaming) work just fine ; I also changed nothing on my Systems or Connections.
---------
I took the time and counted :
Failure rate was 61 out of 146 this morning.
Consistent Error Message :
5.2.13
WU download error: couldn't get input files:
grid_0810_h_T07_S5R1.dat
-119
MD5 check failed
Seems a MD5 problem all the way.

My only hint atm is to reset the project and start all over again with the files.

I'll see to it that I update my optimized Linux Clients from V5.2.13 to a newer Version then.

This is weird, the problems did not occur today (everything transferred smoothly)... I guess (hope) the Problem fixed itself or got fixed ;)

It's "fixed"... until next time you're having any problems connecting to your 1st. download-server...
