Lost task !!!

Hi marsinph,

what did you do 4 days ago? Change/update virus scanner/firewall?

Nothing visibly wrong in server side scheduler logs.

These are files that server

These are files that server tried to send you earlier but they didn't reach your computer ("lost" somewhere on the net).
On "Update" the server sees that you don't have the tasks he thinks you have
and so sends the files again (it's not error - it's good).

You think you do the "same calculation"? Why do you think so?
I'm 99% sure that another task started, not the same.

And you have credit granted today on both computers:
http://einsteinathome.org/host/3667469/tasks&offset=0&show_names=1&state=3
http://einsteinathome.org/host/3665521/tasks&offset=0&show_names=1&state=3

Hi everyone. Once again, I

Hi everyone.
Once again, I got WU, and only after 4 hours computation, I reveive the same.
No credit granted and each time Einstein download about one gigabyte (1Gb) workUnits. All of it for nothing.
Totally after one week, it is about 10Gb dowload. I prefer to use my connection for a other project. I will not more stay on this project.
And please, stop about firewall, antivirus. The problem is ONLY that the master DB send but lose WU !!! So send it again. It is logical. Buit have nothing to moake with firewall !!! I am computer scientist and LAN manager.
I will not hold (300) three hundred computer working for nothing !!!

No credit granted

Check again: hostid3667469 got 20 ABP2s credited in the past 3 days.
hostid3665521 got 8 ABP2s credited on the 11th and one on the 13th. I wouldn't call that no credit granted.

As for the work your HOST#3665521 is losing, you have a better view on what that computer is doing than any of us. So reacting frustrated at any help we offer, based on what you describe to us (or mostly don't) isn't helping anyone.

Checking the latest log I see your BOINC isn't requesting any work, but getting all those resends anyway. So there's probably something on your computer that's making the tasks be lost. Which then includes a blocking firewall, an anti-virus or other anti-malware program blocking write access, permission problems, physical hard disk-problems etc. But those can only be checked by you, not by any of us.

And before you rock your socks off any further, do know that most people helping here are volunteers just like you. While we don't mind helping fellow volunteers out with their problems, most of us don't react well to be shouted at, called names, or told to stop giving in your eyes bad advice.

You yourself never said what things you tried so far to get things remedied. Threatening to leave isn't going to help either, especially not if it turns out to be a hardware problem.
