Over 24 hours CPU time up the spout?Just looked at the time and noticed that it almost coincides with a system crash caused by,I beleve, a duff ADSL Modem driver. Is this the likley cause?

The server keeps track of work the it has sent to your host but which your host has not yet completed. Your host also reports back to the server the work that it has 'on board'. The message indicates that (because of the system crash) your system did not have some work that it was supposed to have -- so the work was resent to your host.
Nothing to worry about, unless it happens all the time and for no apparent reason.
If you want to learn more about this, search the message boards for 'ghost workunits'.
