Hi all, I have a course of Einstein@home (Gamma ray pulsar search #3) waiting to run since the fourth of this month. Several other courses are/have been running on other projects, sort of "going around" that project. The properties shows the "report is due the eighteenth". Any thoughts what the hold-up is and whether it will run that course by then?

Thanks,
Josh

Try checking your resource share setting on the E@H preferences page. Other projects might have a higher share allocation causing E@H to be lower priority. If this is the case, the wu's for E@H should start getting more priority the closer they get to deadline.

If I am wrong about this someone please correct me.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Boinc runs by a complicated algorithm that is pretty hard for us users to figure out, but it is based on first in, first out with an emphasis on deadlines too. What that means is until your unit gets closer to its deadline you could be running units you downloaded before it first. Other things the algorithm takes into consideration is the percentages, but I am not sure exactly how.

If I click on your name to see your account page and then click on 'view' to see your computer details, I see you have one computer attached (an AMD Phenom II x6) which last contacted the project on June 28 and currently has no tasks allocated by the project. Perhaps you have inadvertently created a duplicate account (different from the account used for posting) and your computer is now attached to the second account?

I did a user search and there are lots of accounts starting with "Yoshi", including two that are precisely "Yoshi B". The first of these was created on 6th June 2014 and the second on 28th June 2014. The older account is the one you used for posting. The newer account has two, seemingly identical computers attached so, unless you really do have two computers, it looks like you have managed to double register the same computer on your newer account. The 'older' of these two hosts, last contacted the project on 4th August around 3AM UTC and the 'newer' one, created on the same day around 6AM, is continuing to contact the project.

I really don't know how or why this 'double registration' can happen but it must be something you are doing. Have you done a second BOINC install in a different BOINC directory (folder)? It's a very long time since I've done a Windows install so I really don't know if that could be the problem or not.

Perhaps if you give more information, we could work out a plan to solve the two issues you seem to have.

Cheers,
Gary.

Yes Yoshi, your account here says *no tasks*

Never heard of an accidental double account before but you may be the first

Edit: Did you change your video card lately?

Looking at your account I see your card running for POG has the same CPU but one has a Radeon and the other a GeForce GTX 750 Ti and your POGs are running fine.
