trying to update but get message from BOINC ''boinc7.0.28 64 pc linux gnu sh could nt be opened, because the associated helper appllication does not exist. Change the association in your preferences''.

been running BOINC for years but never seen the above msge before. What do I do next?

Did you get the download from a place like this one:

If not it could be damaged. That is the extent of my Linux knowledge, sorry.

I am still using BOINC

I am still using BOINC 6.10.58 on my 2 boxes with SuSE Linux 12.1 and 12.2 because 7.0.28 does not work on them.

Sounds like it's having a

Sounds like it's having a problem picking a shell to open the program with. Try "sh boinc7.0.28...." on the command line (or "open with other applications" and select "/bin/sh").

7.0.60 is the newest Beta and they are hoping it will become the next release version.

Thanks to everyone. Seems best to wait for updates from Linux and/or BOINC to solve the problem.
