      All I see is page 2 of a 3 page thread, complaining about problems related to upgrading or installing graphics related stuff (seemingly caused by a particular kernel version) on Ubuntu.  I didn't see any user called Tom M so I have no idea of what your particular problem is.  Among all the posts, there were a couple that documented a workaround - installing an earlier kernel version than the problem one.  Have you tried that??

      Perhaps you could give some details and perhaps you could document what you have actually done?  I don't use Ubuntu but if you explain your problem, perhaps someone else could give you advice.
