"Invalid" result treated as a "Success"

The checksums are differs from the other two.
That's why the result got an invalid status.
Success means just that the client completed the result successfully.
There might be undetected errors in these results and that's why there are
several boxes crunching the same WU.
When the validator has three results returned it compares them and it found
that one of them didn't fit with the others and marked it invalid.
I saw this result was from a Linux box and the others had WinXP:s..
Is this that old "punish linux vs. 2 Windows" still around?
