Not sure what I have done but for about a fortnight now I have had no new work for my AMD/ATI machine, However my Intel/Nvidia is chugging away quite merrily! Any thoughts on what I could have done (or should do) would be welcomed.
Be aware I am not tech minded and need to have things explained like I am an idiot. :)

The thing to do in such cases is to go look at the log provided to you each time your host "phones home" and requests work.
In the case of your AMD host, that log can be found at:
http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu//host_sched_logs/6736/6736647
Here are the first few lines, which show that you have a conflict between the state of your disk space as perceived by BOINC and the requirements you have set in your computing preferences:
I suggest you go to your Einstein user account page, and first click on "computers" so that you can review the column titled "location" for the host in question. It will either have the value home, work, school, or be blank--which stands for default.
Then go back to the account main page and click on Computing preferences.
Most likely you'll see four preference sets--one for each of the possible locations (aka venues). For the location used by this host, review the section titled Disk and Memory usage, and consider whether you really need so tight a restriction as you have set for each one. You have a largish disk, and plenty of spare room, so why not allow Einstein access to more of it? It appears to me that you have limited BOINC to 1 Gbyte and also limited it to 1% of disk. I personally currently limit BOINC to 60 GB and allow it up to 30% of my disk, for example.
Many thanks for super fast

Many thanks for super fast reply, I have checked and both "location" columns are blank, Disk space is already set to 10 GB and disk space is now set to 15%.
The old girl has been happy and crunching since i started using her but I do notice I now keep getting "commmunication deffered" messages all the time. Once again thanks for your help,I will just have to wait and hope the the old girl gets back into the groove soon. Be well and thanks!
It will "phone home" on its

It will "phone home" on its own eventually, but you can speed the process by commanding a project update.
We both run boingmgr 7.2.42, so I can describe this pretty visually, but my description will be for the way it looks in "Advanced View".
Go to Boincmgr (most likely by double clicking the icon for it in your system tray), and click the View menu item at top left. Select Advanced view from the top of the generated menu (if you see a multi-item menu with Simple at the bottom, you are already in advanced view, so back out without changing).
Click the Project tab.
Select Einstein.
From the Commands list at far left click on Update.
That will generate a handshake between your host and the web site. If this is the first update since you updated your preferences, this handshake will be the time boinc on your machine learns of the change in disk rules. So it may take a second handshake before you get work (but a second handshake will probably be generated automatically after a delay of about a minute).
If you want to watch the handshaking, then: at the top of the boincmgr window click on the Advanced menu. Click the Event Log entry, found at the bottom.
An extra window will open, and will contain time-stamped lines regarding interaction between your machine and the project site. Scroll to the bottom of the window to get the most recent lines.
I just did this on mine, which, having an already full queue, did not request any work, but just to give you a flavor, here are the lines I saw:
The event log is quite useful for general monitoring, and almost crucial for debugging some problems. I don't know why the BOINC interface designers have made it so hard to find in the more recent versions.

)
It appears that your machine has phoned home more than once since you said you adjusted the limits, but still reports disk space trouble.
In advising you to adjust the web site imposed limits, I neglected to consider the possibility that you might have set a local preference on the machine itself. If you have, then all local preferences take precedence over anything specified on the web site.
To deal with this possibility, go to Boinc Manager, viewing in Advanced mode, not simple mode.
Click on the Tools item in the top row.
Click on Computing preferences in the resulting menu.
If you want the web site preferences to control just click the "clear" button. Otherwise, click on the "disk and memory usage" tab and make adjustments. I think the setting most likely killing you is the "use at most ... % of total disk space"
RE: I think the setting
)
Urm, no, actually the request log seems to reflect that you have a 1.0 GB disk limit active, which in your case is more constraining than 1%. Still, I'd suggest that you loosen both, if you can find where they are set in your case.

Yahoo!! Many thanks my machine is once again number crunching, I upped my settings to 80GB and 25% disk space and hey presto!!
Many thanks for your time and patience it is greatly appreciated.
Be well :)
