I get a message saying 'Bonic is not running ,please launch bonic to display graphics'. What does this mean? What should I do?

I have installed the bonic successfully and the downloads at the beginning are already over.But when i run the screensaver,it shows that 'bonic is not runing ,please launch bonic to display'. But i am sure that the bonic manager is running on my computer at the same time and the work H1_1078.9_1079.3.0.1_T12_Test02.3 is on.And I want to display the graphics when the screensaver is on,what should i do? Thank you!

The computation ist running? should be visible in Boinc Manager by increasing CPU-Time.
If you did a service installation, no screensaver can be shown, afaik.
may be this is your problem?
If so, you can easily change to 'normal' installation: De-Install, Re-Install into same directory as it was before.

I get the same indication as sunbaosan, but I get it about every other day. When I launch the BOINC manager, every field is blank. I'll try going into the prefs here and increasing memory, but if it works one day and not the next, I feel like I'm really missing something. Any ideas?

Thank you, Thierry. I tried several things, then simply restarted and BOINC is now active. I wonder if on initial startup there is a problem with time sharing between BOINC and my virus check? I will continue to do a restart when I get this problem and see if it works all the time.

boinc.scr does not need access to the internet. boinc.exe needs access to the internet and the ability to act as a server for the local host (and optionally the trusted zond). boincmanager.exe (sp?) needs access to the trusted zone and the local host.

boinc.scr may need access to the local host through the firewall. It has to do RPCs to the client just like boincmgr.exe does.
