hey everyone, i am new here, so i would like to ask You, why when i click on Show Graphics it doesnt show up anything ??? please help.... :)))))
Ster,
You should first check to make sure the driver for your graphics card is up to date. But, you may also be encountering the Einstein 4.79 "graphics bug". Usually the "graphics bug" ends work units with "Client error" messages but, in your case, it may just be keeping Einstein graphics from being displayed.
You might check into using the Beta Application (see link under More Information on the EAH home page). The Beta Application fixes the "graphics bug". I would also add that it is very stable. I used it for about 3 months with no problems. However, it is probably better to stay with Einstein 4.79 for now, and just not use the screensaver (and "Show graphics" option).
This is because EAH is introducing a new science application that will eventually replace v.4.79. The new application (named Albert) contains the same fixes for the "graphics bug" that are in the Beta app, but its science calculations differ from v4.79. The work units for Albert are also different from v4.79. Currently, EAH is sending out both WU types but will eventually phase out v4.79 WU's. If you stay using Einstein 4.79, you will receive the Albert application automatically. If you change to the Beta app, you will not receive Albert automatically, and you will have to uninstall the Beta when v4.79 is "retired".
You should check your BOINC Manager "Work" tab occasionally. If you see an Einstein unit with "Albert 4.37" listed under the "Application" heading, then you should be able to use the "Show graphics" option. But, if it says Einstein 4.79, you should expect the same problems you are having now.
Since you are new here, I think might have overwelmed you with this long explanation. If you didn't understand it all, my advice is to just be patient and the problem should eventually fix itself.
I've been running EaH since August, have ATI Radeon X300SE graphics, and the "Show Graphics" button worked just fine (v5.2.13 and earlier). To date I have had no Albert WUs.
Like an idiot I checked Dell's website and found a more current driver for the Radeon and upgraded (I hope, not real literate on these things). Now the "Show Graphics" button does nothing. I click and it just stares back. 4.79 WUs keep on doing fine (no errors occur when using the graphics button) but the button seems , um, "inactive". I don't personally care because I don't use the screen saver option but I care in the sense that something that used to work no longer does. Maybe I should try and roll back the driver...just rambling.

As long as your video card is working OK for everything else, I would not roll back. I'd just wait until you get an Albert unit and see if the graphics work for it. If it does, you are good to go. If it doesn't work for Albert, then roll back.
I click but nothing shows :(
