Hi all,
I can't for the life of me figure out why I keep getting this error. My app_config.xml is
the same as always. I only get these work units on one machine at the moment, the other boxes
that used to get them now throw this 'unknown application' message in the BOINC notices when
ever the service it started, or I ask for the config files to be read. User Keith suggested I might
not have the executable binary in the projects directory, so I moved it from the one machine that
was still running those tasks. Turned out the other machines still had that binary, except for one I think.
It didn't matter in the end, I get the same error message. I'm confused since the server status
here seems to show work available and that the servers are up and running.

I'm pretty much stumped unless the server status page with the project info isn't up to date.
If the project was entirely out of this work I wouldn't get any on the one machine still receiving them.
I can't find any difference in the box still running these tasks and the ones I have that can't.

Probably likely to the "new" BRP4 applications that showed up recently. Though they have a 2013 origin date we never had exclusive Windows and Linux X86_64 applications show up. Mainly just the ARM and MacOS apps.
Might also be the reason why there haven't been any BRP4 tasks available for a day.

moving the binary file to the project directory doesnt make it "known". what makes it "known" is being recorded in the client_state.xml, which only happens if the project has actually sent you that type of task. but the fact that it's unknown is not the cause of why you might not be getting those tasks, its just a symptom.
since your computers are hidden, I can only guess what might be happening. unhiding them will be helpful.
but my guess is that these computers might be configured with "defaults" and the project is sending you gravitational wave tasks instead (when both task types are selected, the project heavily favors GW instead of GR). or you have these systems configured to a venue/location which is not setup to receive gamma ray GPU tasks.

Thank you both for helpful information. I suspect you both could be right. I had some default global prefs. setup for BOINC cosmology@home project. Any time I put a new BOINC client online it always grabs that as the default
global_preferences.xml, and I couldn't figure out how to stop it. lol I got in the habit of immediately editing that file on a new install and removing the info from that project as default. I guess as long as my gpu's are busy then there's no problem just running O3AS gpu units on linux. I've been wasting some time lately on getting Ubuntu versions that want to run as well. I didn't realize my boxes were all hidden. I'll change that. My Owl11 box runs the FGRPB1G_1.18 tasks all the time but it's the only one. The Owl10 box is the one I've been trying to push toward the FGRPB1G work but can't make it happen. I see a few others (with AMD gpus) have also been able to grab a few here and there, but not all the time. I think it was Keith that said also that running both FGRPB1G and O3AS gpu w/u's might also cause problems, at least if they try to run at the same time. I really have never seen them running concurrently except maybe once, and I think it made it through OK without crashing anything.
