Merging of BOINC accounts is not possible, you will have to choose one of them to continue with. However, it isn't possible that both have the same email as the email address is the unique identifier.

They have the same e-mail 100% sure and that was the case from the beginning.
The only thing had been different was the name, which is the now the same too.
Either I miss something strange or this is bad software design of BIONIC.
Because it shouldn't create two different accounts for the same e-mail.
Lucky then that the back-end is BOINC, not BIONIC. :-)
It also depends on whether or not the check is on in the database, something that the software has not much control over. And then there is that case of case-sensitivity that Gundolf touches. According to the DATABASE is not equal to

Well maybe it's because they do not have credits in the same projects.
Both e-mails are lowercase and as far as I know have always been lowercase.
Are those the two accounts you want to merge? They are on different projects.
You cannot merge accounts on different project.
Every project is its own project, be it if they are Einstein, Seti, Hydrogen, CPDN etc. They are all run by different people, even though they may all run through BOINC.

Then why do I have an "all projects" tab in my client showing only Einstein@home credits?
Also why aren't they merged in the cross project stats websites?
And finally why is the cross project identifier not the same?

Two more hints/questions:
For CPIDs to be identical BOINC must have access to all projects somehow. A simple way to do so is attach one computer to all projects.
The cause of this is the CPID, Cross Project IDentifier. Every project assigns a new user a CPID. It is partly based on the email address you used to sign up, the other part is random.
The CPID is used by BOINCstats to identify a user across projects.
Whenever you sign up with a new project, you'll get a new account on BOINCstats because the CPID is new.
What to do to make sure you'll end up with one BOINCstats account:
Use the exact same email address for every project. Run at least one system with all projects, or one system with project A and B, and one system with project B and C. If there is a project that runs isolated from the other projects, its CPID will never line up.
When you join a new project, this project assigns you a new CPID. This CPID can either change to the same CPID as at the other projects, or the other projects change (one by one) to the new CPID.
It is impossible for me to manually edit your accounts to create one account. It would take to much time too do this for everyone. Just wait a while, and your accounts will line up automatically.
One last thing, which is not too important, but nice for the stats: use the same username across projects, otherwise you get a username like 'Al Bundy @ SAH / Al Bundy @ Predictor / A. Bundy @ CPDN'.
emphasis by me.
After your recent change of user ID, wait a few days to let the CPID propagate between projects.

Are they identical even with respect to case?
I think the email recognition is case sensitive.
