It has had no effect whatsoever, even after restarting BOINC manager, and reattaching to Einstein. Am I doing something wrong? Also, I'm not sure what to do about the Flops tag- is it flops/processor (I have 480 on the GTX 570) or total per task running (half the total GFLOPS (1405 for the GTX 570))? When one task is running, it uses ~600MB of RAM, and I have 1280MB. What should I be putting in the tag?

Try a forum search with the keyword "app_info" (without quotation marks).

You'll need to restart the BOINC client, not (only) the manager.
That was really unnecessary. I hope you had finished and reported all downloaded tasks beforehand.
Where did you place the app_info.xml file?
Are there any hints in the BOINC event log?
