I have two accounts (Ynze Bicknese with 8,762.32 credits and ynze bicknese (no capitals) with 0 credits). How can I merge my old (unused, password forgotten) account to my new account. Thus, how can I save my credits?
Can anyone reset this for me within the project?

How to merge two accounts?

Accounts cannot be merged.
The name doesn't matter on the account, as all registration here is through unique email. If you are still crunching for the old account, go to your BOINC directory and open account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml with something like Notepad.

Find the 32 character hexadecimal account key between the tags. Copy it.

On the page here, log out through your account.
Then try to log back in, again through your account.

You have the option to log in with email address and password, or with use of the authenticator key. Use the latter option, paste your key in the lower box and press OK. That should log you in on your old account, where you can change your password.

If you aren't crunching for Einstein or are crunching for it on the new account, your option is to get the old account key emailed to you. To do so, go to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/get_passwd.php and fill in the email address you used to register on Einstein with on the old account. The authenticator key will then be sent to you through email. Follow the steps above on logging out and logging back in.

Thank you for your answer.
Now, I have two accounts for the Einstein-project.
I tried to change my old emailaddress to my new emailaddres, but it says: 'there is another account with this emailaddress and password.'
Ok, I can't merge.
The only thing I can do is to delete my new account and then rename the emailaddress from my old account. Is that correct?

With regards,
Y. Bicknese

That's easily solved: Log in

That's easily solved: Log in to your new account, set the email address there to something else, it doesn't even need to be a real email address, as long as it has an @ in it. (e.g. will do)

Then log out, log in to your old account (the one you're now using), and change your email address to the one you were originally using for the new account.

One can't delete accounts either.
