The search we are performing in Einstein@Home is, however, a statistical process; what we get back from the clients is material that has to be analysed further, the parameter grid might need to be narrowed incrementally (by producing new workunits and running them with E@H) and finally the posible detection needs to be confirmed by other data analysis methods to be sure that what we see is really a feature of the data, not of the search method or even the code.
So it will take quite some time from the first "candidates" spotted by an E@H app to a confirmed gravitational wave detection, but it will surely be announced here (as well).
