Hello,
I was looking at some of the top computers, and they all are single processor computers, then I look at the details, and they are crunching around 8-10 pieces of data at a time.
This is remarkable. So I am wondering, are people really just "cheating" and merging all their separate computers into one profile?

How do single processor computers have such a high average?

Hi Jordan,
As far as I can tell, only four of the top twenty computers are single processor.
Could you provide some examples?
:)

The last time I looked, many of them are single computers but have as many as 32 processors in the "box" ...
You have to look at the Computer Summary and look at the number of CPUs ... with SETI@Home down I can't find one now ...
You also have to know what else they do with the computer. For example, in my case, as was mentioned in another thread, I am one of the "nuts" that does as part of their life invest in computers to add processing power to their personal donation to the projects.
Now, in *MY* case it is because this is about, well, along with my documentation, my only contribution to society at this stage in my life ...
So, once I finance the new Macintosh I have considered getting a dual processor capable MB and dropping in a pair of HT Xeons ... I have not decided if that will replace or add to the farm ... but ... in either case, that is all that that computer will do ... well, if I put Windows on it ... I will have that incredible load from downloading patches ... but it most likely will be after the cross platform GUI is out for Linux and that is what I will run ...

Ah yes, you are right, I didn't even think to look at the number of processors. Thanks!
