I set up my account and it is not clear to me if my computer is actually processing any work yet. How to I verify this?
Welcome to Einstein@Home, Robert, or do you go by Bob?
The fact that you can post a message in the forums means that you have already done some work. You couldn't post without having done any work.
Now, to check this, open your BOINC manager (I'm assuming that you have the "Simple View"), and at the top you'll find the File-View-Options-etc listings for the tabs. Click on the "View" tab, and select "Advanced View", then you will see all that you have selected to run.
Feel free to ask questions in the forums. This is the right place.
Just get familiar with the BOINC client. Depending on your machine and your OS, things can vary a bit when it comes to optimizing on how much ressources you want dedicate to the project. But people are helpful here.
I personally use the web interface to do all the settings. Check Account -> Preferences -> Computing as well as Projects. Changes transfer to your local client the next time it contacts the server or when you hit "update" in the client.
Oh and checking CPU/GPU utilization in e.g. task-manager is a good ressource to check if everything runs according to plan.
I can't see your computers on the Einstein@home website because they have been set not to be displayed for privacy reasons.
Have you downloaded the BOINC software and attached to the Einstein@home project with your account credentials? If so, you should easily be able to check whether or not you are running Einstein@home tasks simply by opening the BOINC Manager.
Thanks everyone, it isn't clear on the home page and there doesn't appear to be any reference to BOINC at all there. I have installed the software and am excited to be able to contribute to the advancement of science.

Keep us updated on your progress! Completing the first workunit is the hardest, after that your settings and your hardware just do everything in the background. Also make sure you don't commit too many ressources, as it may slow down your PC.

Robert, I don't know if you've explored these sites or not, but you may want to to get a handle on what all of this hub-bub is about.
