I use BOINC to heat my house during the winter as I'm sure some of you do as well. I find it very annoying to turn on and off projects based on how hot or cold it is in the house. Is there some form of software that communicates with a wifi connected thermostat or some type of data connected internal probe? If not is there anyone willing to take on the challenge to alleviate this hassel?

I use a program called Tthrottle which adjusts the activity level of boinc programs in order to keep the reported temperature of your GPU or CPU within the limit that you specify.
Depending on some details of the way your systems in your house relate to each other there is a chance you might find this program useful to your purpose.

You could run Domoticz, that could connect to a smart thermostat or some other type of temperature measurement utility.
Setting up domoticz to run a (remote) script is not much of a challenge. The question would just become, what would you want that script to do.
You'd have 2 types of scripts. One if x > desired temp, and one for x < desired temp.
In case you don't have any temperature measurement utilities, then you'd first have to decide how much you are willing to spend. You could go for a smart thermostat like google Nest. Or perhaps you'd like more home automation or value your privacy, then you could for example try something based on Zwave and then plug a Zwave usb stick in your PC so that it can read and control the devices.

the cheap solution would be to query the weather reports and turn boinc on or off based on a forecast for the current day and your location. I think that too is rather simple to accomplish. Then you would not need any utilities to measure your room temperature.

You have 8 fairly powerful computers, but if they are throwing out that amount of heat to heat a house I would say that the kit is running too hot. What house are we talking about 2 bed terrace, 4 bed detached? It is totally impractical to turn computers on and off like a therrmostat, and I am seriously wondering if this is for real.
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
