My latest addition to the PC farm would not run GPUs. Accordingly, my builder gave it a [legal] operating system transplant from one of my other machines.
My attempts to reset both machines to zero seems to have complicated the situation. I am happy to let BOINC work this stuff out on its own.

No shenanigans are going on. However, I plan one more multiple gpu build so the issue might come up again. I have a machine that will do four gpu cards. Cloning it is easier then any alternative.

Sometimes I wonder about your builder. I wouldn't worry about BOINC though. Make sure you change the computer name after cloning. You can uninstall BOINC completely and re-install if you like, or detach and reattach to your projects.
