I know this isn't an E@H issue but there are a lot of people with this kind of hardware and I'm hoping someone will take pity on me.
I have a few systems that I want to run through my new 27" Samsung monitor. The HDMI with a switch box would be the most convenient. I've tried 2 different cheapies from Amazon and they both have the same problem.
The GTX560 is recognized by the computer (dual monitor setup) and everything works if I plug the cable directly into the monitor but if I go through either switch box the monitor reports no video signal. Computer still sees the monitor fine.
I've tested the switch box with the on board Sandy Bridge hdmi, on board AMD (forgot the code name) hdmi, GT 240, NVS3000 in my laptop with a display port to hdmi convert and everything else works just fine.
I suppose I could test it with a TIVO and a Blu-ray to exhaust the hdmi devices in the house but don't see the point.
Has anyone seen this kind of problem? Anyone know of a switch box compatible with the 560's hdmi?
Thanks for reading this.

HDMI Switch Box and GTX 560
)
This has been frustrating. I can't for the life of me find a reason these switch boxes do not work with this video card.
I did find a work around. I bought a $2 DVI-HDMI adapter and that signal works fine through the switch box.
All my searching and reading leads me to believe the only difference is the 560 is using HDMI 1.4a standard while Sandy Bridge and the AMD on board use 1.4 an the GT 240 uses 1.3, I think, I haven't found a definitive spec on that yet.
For the life of me I can see any reason 1.4a should not work through a switch box that 1.4 does. As far as I can tell the difference is the maximum resolution defined, but the max resolution of the card is within the 1.4 standard.
I'm still interested if anyone comes across a switch box that works with these high end nVidia cards or find the "act reasonable" switch in the control dialog. I'm planning a HTPC but now I'm not sure what video card to use.
