hi

i'm just getting back into crunching boinc, i'mm using a mac snow leopard 10.6.5, i want to use the command line client which i am doing. i want to be able to use the screensaver, the same that is possible when you install the boinc manager gui.

i'm having an awful time. i have the command line client installed, i also have the gui version installed. but am only using the command line.

how can i use only the comman line client and have the screensaver available to me?

sorry if this is confusing

thanks

The Mac screensaver is not included with the CLI version of BOINC, but installing the GUI version automatically installs the screensaver. It is fine to install both the GUI and Command Line.

The installer sets the Manager to automatically start whenever the user logs in. If you don't want to run the Manager, you should go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items and delete the BOINCManager login item.

You should make sure you have a current version of BOINC installed, as older versions of the BOINC screensaver did not work under OS 10.6 - that was fixed about BOINC 6.8.17.
