Hi,
Just wondering if this was some random, oddball thing, or if it's happened to anyone else.
In general, things have run quite smoothly for me since coming onboard Feb 24th. But, on two occasions I've had the machine lock up when sitting back down at the PC trying to exit the screensaver, forcing me to reset.
When it happened earlier today, I was about halfway through a WU. After restart, when crunching resumed, the display was noting some ridiculous amount of time remaining (it began at 1039h:XXm:XXs and counted down in an odd accelerated fashion I'd not seen previously). The WU in question seems to have processed correctly. Looking at my results though, it took unusually longer to complete.
Anyway, I know some users have had graphics problems, but it shouldn't be an issue on this box as I'm running a Radeon 9800 Pro with the latest Catalyst 5.2 drivers. No other applications were running at the time of the two lockups, and I'm on XP Pro using 4.19 & 4.79.
Just fishing for ideas. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Has anyone experienced a screensaver lockup?
)
I had a few minutes to snoop through the system log just now, and discovered a couple of W32Time errors logged earlier (apparently it'd been unable to synch the system clock for a while -- it's fixed now). Since the SS requires proper synchronization to display the LIGO and GEO600 observatories, I wonder if perhaps that was the culprit.

Hi, I have had two hangs
)
Hi,
I have had two hangs last week when I installed BOING on my PC at work (HP NC6000 laptop). When the screensaver started it eventually hung up (only a few minutes after start of the screen saver). I had to hard reset. Now I've disabled the E@H screensaver and its working.

I've just had this happen to me for the first time. See this thread for more details.

I observed something similar
)
I observed something similar last days (client errors after suspend while the screensaver was running) and talked to an OpenGL programmer this morning. He said that he had quite some trouble like this with ATI Rage chips, tried out various drivers, but couldn't get hold of it. Never seen this with NVidia, though. Can you report your graphics cards?

I'm running an Nvidia "GeForce 4 Ti 4600", drivers are v61.77 (possibly not the absolute latest as I downloaded and installed them in October when I rebuilt this machine).

I just got a lockup on the
)
I just got a lockup on the screensaver, using an ATI graphics card (9600XT)and Windows 2000 OS. This could have been caused by a stray mouse movement, but I'm not sure. Anyway, had to reboot the machine and now the work unit that was in progress is marked at 100% complete, but this is incorrect - it was about 2/3rds done.
The next file in queue is being worked on.
Anyway to restart on this?
