Yeeessss .... very

Yeeessss .... very interesting ( overdub with pithy Teutonic accent ).

Adds credence to the voodoo server theory - now the front runner I'm afraid.

So there's no question that we'll need TV/Hollywood assistance now :
- Columbo's too old for this IT stuff!
- so maybe 'Profiler'?
- 'X-files', if they'll do an encore?
- definitely not a 'Law & Order' variant as the franchise doesn't ( yet ) stretch :-(
- she may be pretty, but please NOT Buffy.
- maybe a James Bond, ehh? It worked in 'Live and let Die' ..

Suggestions? :-)

Cheers, Mike.

NB ... and yes, Ensor, your conspicuous trail has indeed been duly noted .... a smooth move 'volunteering' the information and a nice portrayal of surprise as well ... :-)

( edit ) Hmmm .... ( seriously now ) .... are boot sector viruses the worry they once were? And how would you get from IP port 1043/31416 to there anyway?

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

I would just like to add my thanks to David. He seems very dedicated to what he does. I imagine his weekend was full of telephone calls and phillips head screws. Please do not take offense but I did increase the Cache on all my machines. Rather than look for other projects to join, I prefer to keep crunching on this one util the servers are back up!

Yes I concur, congratulations to David! But will he use a Hammer perhaps? [arrgh .... cringe!!] He must be sorely tempted....... throw it on the freeway perhaps? :-)

My 'farm' is having a rest, it's too bloody hot DownUnda at present anyhows. I'll start bringing them out of cryo' one at a time to ease them back in....

Cheers, Mike.

Thanks for the effort in resurrection. Here's hoping that the third time is the charm regarding the miscreant device causing the instability. I figure to go 'light' on the project for a while though. I've set most of my clients for 'no new tasks' for now. I figure if we see around a week or so of 'stable' then I'll bring things up to speed. Seti, World Grid and Rosetta will say thanks (smile).

No offense taken at all! I fully intend to keep devoting the majority of my crunching time to Einstein and SETI.... Both uFluids and SpinHenge are in beta test, I joined up to help out there on the rare occasions Einstein and SETI are having problems (in fact I joined Einstein during it's beta testing phase too).

As far as Rosetta goes, I was going to join shortly anyway since Predictor is on hiatus. Also, I'll soon be setting up another machine or two to run BOINC projects on and need to ascertain how feasible it is to run BOINC on some pretty outdated hardware (specifically my old Athlon/Duron 1300s).

I think the Boinc with E@H attached will run on just about anything. I have two machines running Pentium 233MMX dual processors. One of my better machines is a Tyan mobo with dual AMD Duron 1.3Ghz cpu's.

Yea, they didn't call me the Good Humor Man for no reason. The P233's crank out 2WU's about every 15 hours or so. If I watched paint dry for a hobby it would be more active. :')
