This BBC article talks about laser interferometry, gravity waves etc.

There is a link to Einstein@Home, but somewhat suprisingly, it does not feature in the article. The BBC in the past have normally chosen to add a "popular science/interaction" piece to otherwise "high brow" stories.

Maybe BBC thinks all scientific computations would be done by scientists clad in white gowns by punching cards to be fed to a UNIVAC computer. In my youth I did such things, helped by a blond assistant girl. Sigh!
