Are these tasks broken too, or is the validator just not running?

Looking at the server status

Looking at the server status page, it doesn't appear there is a validator for tuning run 2, only the one for the original tuning run. I'm sure they will get one running fairly soon.

Unfortunately I have contributed a few of the failed ones on one machine where I got caught by the vsyscall=emulate issue after upgrading kernels. I fixed it as soon as I noticed and it seems to be running fine now.

After the backlog of pendings

After the backlog of pendings cleared out, I noticed that I tallied 9 invalid results (all "Completed, can't validate", no errors). Sorry if I missed something, but is this typical and a result of the problems with the recent batch?  Any hope of getting some credit for the work (not that I would be terribly concerned if there isn't... Smile)?

On the previous page, Bernd

On the previous page, Bernd said we would get credit for any tasks done from the tail end of the previous bugged run.  I'd assume the same will happen for this one if it's also broken.

It was broken credit awarding will probably be a semi-manual process and might not happen until after the bugs are sorted out and the run has been successfully restarted.

Well, of course. My apologies for not reading through the thread more thoroughly... Embarassed

Well, after finally getting

Well, after finally getting the first O2 #2 tasks on one of my hosts (AMD FX 8320) - which seems hard enough because I already try it since the start of the new app but got nothing until now - my second host gets the following message now (which didn't appear before):

26.02.2018 16:25:41 | Einstein@Home | Continuous Gravitational Wave search O2 All-Sky Tuning #2 is not available for your type of computer.

What does this mean? The previous app did run well on my host (AMD FX 8350), but this one now not? Is there something special on it?

Sorry for that. We found a problem in the "#2" App version 0.01 and "deprecated" that version before the 0.02 version was out.

FWIW the 0.02 shouldn't be faster than the 0.01, just a little more verbose in stderr.

@Bernd,

Any idea how many work units are in this tuning run? We are up to 800,000 so far which seems like quite a lot for a tuning run. It may be in proportion to the amount of actual data of course or simply ironing out bugs with the apps, etc.

I'm seeing my one i7-8700 is having a higher number of pending tasks than my other machines. Apart from being a different CPU to my others it also has the 4.15 Linux kernel (the others are running 4.14).

It got a BIOS update today that included a micro-code update so that may or may not correct things. Its this host
