Is there any idea when there might be GPU apps (both ATI and Nvidia) for the new Gravitational Wave searches? I did a test download and each WU ties up a core for 8-14 hrs.

Since, on my machines, a core can support processing on 6-10 GPU WUs simultaneously, I really hate to waste my hardware since it takes processing away from not only other E@H searches but also other BOINC projects.

Thanks,
Steve

No plans for a GPU version at the moment see FAQ

GPU tasks need dedicated CPU resources, so if you run CPU tasks which use them, the GPUs will "go hungry".

You can stop CPU apps in the project account settings and restrict them via the %CPU use etc. I find any CPU use has an effect on my AMD HD7990, but right now i want to crunch OAS, so it has dropped ~200K RAC (along with the temps and noise and...)
