Hello. I want to use my GPU (also with 2 cores of my 4 cores in Phenom II X4 BE 940 CPU). Everything seems to be set right, but the GPU does not work at all, only the 50% of performance of the quad core CPU is used (because I want to use only 2 of 4 CPU cores). The newest GPU-Z shows GPU utilization 1-3%. Everywhere in menu is set to use the GPU, even during computer usage. But also after 5-10 minutes the computer was not used, the GPU utilization is almost 0%. My GPU is HD 4830 with Catalyst 10.6 drivers and Win 7 32bit. What could be wrong? Are the necessary newer drivers as 10.6? I hope AMD/Ati HD 4830 with 640 SPs (equivalent 128 nVidia shaders 2XX) is enough for computing and it will be fast at least as one on mine CPU cores.

Alas, GPU code from E@H doesn't support ATI. Only cuda enabled NVidia. This may not be the case forever but certainly applies now.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Sorry I forgot to notice the BOINC Client version: 6.11.6.

I have read the article about this and newer versions of client should work with AMD/Ati GPUs and also that Einstein@Home supoports GPUs of this producer.

Anyway, thanks for the speedy answer. This "supportless" applications makes not me very happy :-(

Oh? Where did you read that .... this would be emulation perhaps ?

Cheers, Mike.

Yes, you are right, only

Yes, you are right, only nVidias. Couple of days ago I was reading a review of most popular projects, which supports GPU usage. I was active 2 years ago in Einstein@Home and after reading this article a remembered the times so I started to participate again, but not in crazy way with the 100% of the CPU performance and not 16 hours a day (now only 50% of the CPU performance and 5 hours a day).
I loose myseft in the mixture of information and I thought Einstein@Home supports Ati/AMDs Radeons too.

The article is: http://pctuning.tyden.cz/hardware/graficke-karty/18884-distribuovane-vypocty-na-modernich-grafickych-kartach?start=1 in Czech language, which is extremely similar to my nature Slovak language (similar like GB/USA English or Austria/Germany native German language).
