I thought this thread was going recommend some good books related to LIGO and such, but oh well. I'm reading The Quantum Zoo at the moment, and was thinking about picking up Einstein's Universe from the library next. Einstein's Unfinished Symphony is a really good book dealing with the science of LIGO, I highly recommend it!

When i was a student at secondary school i used to read KVANT monthly popular-science journal and also KVANT series of popular-science books.
This is what we had in russia to boost our interest in sciences some 5-30 years ago :)

The Truth of Science: Physical Theories and Reality, by Roger G. Newton. I've only read a chapter and a half so far, but it's really good.

Was wondering when it was written, so I googled the title and found the publisher's page for it here. It does look like an excellent book, thanks HomeGnome. Newton (the book's author) quoted in the publisher's synopsis, totally worth repeating here:
