Hello,

Problem: BOINC keeps giving me way way too many tasks, machine cannot possibly do them all and I have to keep killing them.

I am wasting a bunch of my time periodically checking this machine a few times a week and aborting HUNDREDS of tasks.

BOINC version 7.16.11 x64, running under Windows 10 Pro. Machine basically dedicated to Einstein@home. Runs 24x7.

Older HP Z620 machine, dual-CPU XEON E5 2680 v2s-[at]-2.8 GHz. I also have a GTX 970 GPU in the machine.

Please help.

Any ideas?

At one point not long ago, I got rid of all tasks, disconnected and re-connected as requested since I had two accounts or something, but that didn't fix it.

FYI - I have another more modern machine running AMD and I cannot remember what I did, but it no longer has this problem. I tried the same thing to this one, and whatever it was didn't work.

Your cache setting in the

Your cache setting in the project preferences is way too big.  Drop it down to 0.1 days an 0 additional days.

Make sure that you pay attention to which venue that host is attached too and change the setting for that venue.

If you change the value of a venue that that host is not attached too, you effected no change at all and you will still have the same problem of too much work downloaded.
