I've just installed boinctray on my Fedora 9 box, using Gnome. It pops up on the tray, but can't find client_state.xml. Alas, every time I right click on it, the menu pops up for less than a second, and it exits. I managed to get it running by editing ~/.boinctrayrc, but it still exits if I try a right click. Suggestions?

Getting boinctray to work

Boinctray is a keyboard and mouse detection utility used by BOINC on Windows systems. I don't think it can be run on Linux.
Or is this a third party application? Where did you get it from?

Yes it is, see it's homepage.
Joe, why not contact the author directly?

That's my next step. I just thought it might be quicker to check here first in case it's something that's come up here before. Thanx anyway.
Boinctray trys to get the
)
Boinctray trys to get the info about the tasks running on your system by reading client_state.xml. That's a poor strategy because it inevitably results in file access conflicts. The proper, hassle free way of getting the info is via RPC. Boinctray will likely be erratic until the author switches from reading client_state.xml to using RPC.
