The second machine is faster has 1 gig of ram vrs 500meg. The second machine has hyper threading and a faster disk.
The first machine is way way out performing the second machine.
The only thing i can see is that BOINC is reading my HT machine as a 2 cpu machine and i think its spending a LOT of time CPU swapping. Its only a single CPU machine !

Faster computer running slower ?

Your first machine is not faster. It is only crunching small workunits until now. The second machine is crunching large workunits. I also use a P4 3.0 GHz (HT on) and need for a large workunit between 65.000 s and 67.000 s. It's nearly the same time as your second machine needs (as i know, a normal crunchtime).
I think, to use HT on (read 2 CPUs) is the faster way to crunch with the new S5-app. Without HT my pc needs prop. 11 h for one wu - with HT on 18,5 h for two workunits.
Ahh ok thanks

Ahh ok thanks
your sure about HT is better

your sure about HT is better with the S5 now? I had disabled it for the S4 run.
RE: your sure about HT is

For S4 workunits i also had disabled HT.
But now it seems to crunch faster with enabled HT. If on your P4 3.2 GHz HT is off, your crunchtime is (so i can see) 10,5 h/wu. On my P4 3.0 GHz (HT on) it takes for two units 18,5 hours.
