My HD is failing and I will be putting a new one in today. I don't want to lose my current work unit if I can help it.

Is there any files I can transfer into the new set up to avoid losing the work or should I just bag it and start new?

if you still can read the original directory copy its content to the new drive, install to the directory chosen.
otherwise current work will be lost, wus not reported I don't know.
Your credits will stay.

Did you try this trick from OldWarrior?

Sorry, I am a new member of E@H, need to format the harddisk cause of the slow down of the computer. But don't understand what is the 'Content' shown above meaning for which files or folders need to backup to keeping the existing job?

There are tools that will

There are tools that will take an image of your entire disk, allow you to save the whole disk as 'disk image' file, and/or copy the drive to another drive.

Ghost does this. I think my maxtor drive came with some disk copy tools.
Knoppix has partimage which does the same thing as Ghost.
