I get a download fail:
25/03/2010 02:59:13 Einstein@Home Giving up on download of skygrid_0320Hz_S5GC.dat: file not found
How do I communicate this to HQ?
I tried aborting then updating, but the download file still fails.

The Problems and Bug Reports board is probably a better place for this topic - this section of the forum is for general discussion not related to crunching or science, so I don't know if the project scientists read it (the mods probably do, but still).

Indeed, so I moved this thread to the "Problems" forum.
Most of the download problems seem to be transient and result from overload of the mirrors.

I had a problem with skygrid_0300Hz_S5GC.dat yesterday. Neither BOINC nor I could download it from the Glasgow mirror (my preferred 'UK nearest'), and it's still not there today.
I tried it manually from the second-preferred download link (einstein.aei.mpg.de), and that downloaded properly at the first attempt, around 21:00 UTC. But BOINC itself had only tried once:
- not even trying the alternate sites. (I tidied up client_state after the manual download - fortunately I caught it before the error was reported - and it's run to 78% so far:)
BTW, why are there eight download urls for each file bloating client_state.xml - the second four duplicating the first four? We may as well cut it down to one, if that's all BOINC (v6.10.36, 32-bit Windows in this case) is going to use.
