Recently, because of Defects, I had to revert to my standby PC. I downloaded BOINC again and reattached to my Projects.
The WU Einstein sent me will, reputedly, take in excess of 120 hours to complete!! Yet when I checked the PC that had already completed the WU it was only claiming 360 points?
Something is a bit fishy!

Hi!

The other result for this workunit was done with a very old version of BOINC that doesn't fully support the credit mechanism used by Einstein@Home, so actually your "wingman" is "under-claiming". When you finish this task, your PC will claim roughly 650 credits for it. BOINC will award the higher claim to both PCs, then.

So all is well. Also the initial computing time estimate on a fresh BOINC installation is usually too high by a factor of 1.5 to 2.0, so expect the task to finish in much less than 120 hours.

Happy crunching!
