I just want to apologize to the project for all of the error ridden tasks lately and to give a warning/suggestion to all overclockers. I assembled a Q6600 system a few weeks ago and ran E@H 24/7 to help burn it in and work the new system. But then, as I intended from the start, I started playing with the various overclocking parameters/settings to see how high an overclock I could get; I finally decided to stay at 3.2G (stock is 2.4G) with aircooling to keep temps in the acceptable range.
While I was doing this I forgot that I had E@H running. Many of the incorrect settings caused the system to collapse and restart, or worse, to run with many computational errors in E@H that didn't affect the system. Since E@H starts with booting and runs in the tray I totally forgot about it and many errors were caused by the improper settings. I finally noticed and suspended my tasks on this system; my AMD is still crunching.
If you decide to overclock, which can be very good, make sure that you have BOINC/E@H suspended until you finally determine that your system is stable. I have finally decided that my system is stable by running Prime95 v25.4 on all cores for 24 hours. I have started again with my Q6600 to crunching for E@H but I will watch it closely and avoid the numerous errored tasks that I caused before.

Hi!
Thank you very much for sharing your overclocking experience and advise to fellow crunchers. Actually, the developers where looking for the sorts of errors that would typically appear in case of serious overclocking/undervolting etc., so even if it was unintended, the results are valuable to tell apart software and hardware problems.

Thank you for the support. Hopefully the developers can use the problems that I caused. But my primary reason in posting was to warn others about the problems that they could cause when overclocking (or just having computer problems) and that they should be aware that there are things that could happen when OCing.
