Error messages.

I see a couple things going on... I'll highlight them in different colors in your logs.

1. Your benchmarks look really low. My P4 at 2.8 benches at
4/4/2007 10:30:56 PM||Benchmark results:
4/4/2007 10:30:56 PM|| Number of CPUs: 1
4/4/2007 10:30:56 PM|| 1430 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
4/4/2007 10:30:56 PM|| 2159 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU

which is low for a P4. And granted yours is a Celeron and mine is a P4, but your benchmarks are still low.

Maybe retry running the benchmarks (advanced view... advanced menu... rerun benchmarks)

2. Are those numbers accurate? I think those percentages combined with the really low benchmarks makes the scheduler think you can't meet deadlines for Einstein.

3. You've got a ton of http errors. But some files are getting through. You weren't able to get the .exe from Einstein or WCG. You had a .gz (which I think is a zipped file) get through for one project but fail for the other. You got a .txt file through for WCG. My guess is something in your firewall is blocking .exe type downloads. But I don't know what's in those zipped files that got through.

Did anything on your computer change (MS updates, changes in security software, etc)?

[edit... Mike, can you maybe move this over to one of the number crunching forums, it'll get more attention there[/edit]

Some debugging logs would be

Some debugging logs would be helpful.

In notepad (it needs to be a plain text editor), paste the following.

[pre]

1
1
1
1
1
1

[/pre]

Save it as cc_config.xml and make sure that it doesn't get a .txt extension by choosing save as... save as type... all files.

Shut down BOINC. Copy the file into the boinc directory (C:\\Program Files\\BOINC) and restart BOINC. If it doesn't retry the communications right away, switch over to the advanced view and under the 'advanced' menu, choose 'retry communications'. Let a few of those files try downloading again. Then copy all the messages from the messages tab so one of us can take a look at it.

Also, tell us what version of Windows you are using, what security software/firewall, what sort of connection you have to the internet and if you use a proxy at all.

[disclaimer]My knowledge of networking type stuff is weak at best. I'll turn it over to someone else now.[/disclaimer]

I just ran a manual benchmark on my Cel 2.4 (BOINC 5.8.16) for you all's reference:

I agree to it being on the low side.

problem computer's (Cel 3.2) benchmarks:

Make sure there's not much

Message 62027 in response to message 62026

Make sure there's not much else running in the background. The indexing service will run on Windows NTFS drives when your computer goes idle. That takes up CPU which interferes with benchmarking.

A Celeron 2.3GHz should have around 2300 MIPS for its integer reading. The floating point will stay behind, as you don't have a full P4.
