hi,

to finalize a process in task manager of windows, the same process not being finalized and given as 100% complete in the boinc client.
And even setting the boinc client to release the process memory to suspend processing, workunits that are being processed remain consuming memory.

tested on Windows XP SP3, 2003 SP1 and SP2

error ending process.

I think you are speaking about this computer, since it's the only one with erroneous/aborted tasks in the list.

Did you try stopping and restarting BOINC (not only the manager but also the client) or rebooting when a task got stuck?

What's your setting forLeave tasks in memory while suspended? in the Computing preferences?

Gundolf

If you end any task via the Windows Task Manager that will result in an abort from BOINC's point of view.

If you want to unload memory when BOINC is suspended then you want the 'Leave applications in memory while suspended' unchecked - no tick in the box. Plus you'll want 'Run based on preferences' selected - drop down from 'Activity' menu item on menu bar.

Cheers, Mike.
