Fire and Ice Some say the

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Serenity (Rescue) I hear

Serenity (Rescue)

I hear you singing
cross my heart
i feel you dreaming
i'm torn apart

teach me from the distance
touch my heart
even as i'm sinking
You take my part

tell me your reason
make me smile
i'll be here waiting
like a child

The Message (Empty Is My

The Message (Empty Is My World)

empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you
empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you

somewhere in the stars
way out there past mars
there's a beacon in the sky
and it's callin'
sends it's best to you
all it says is true
when the time is right
they'll be comin'

empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you
empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you

tell it to your soul
the part of you that knows
that the voices in the sky
have been callin'
something we don't know
in the distant shadow glows
we are in their sights
they've been watchin'

empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you
empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you

(bridge)
in the silence of the night
when they reach out
gonna feel it in your bones
getting closer every day
without a doubt
hope is movin' in
will we be foe or friend?

empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you
empty is my world...
empty is my world
empty is my world
without you

Btw...For those who may be curious...This was written as a take on what a friendly message from an extra-terrestrial intelligence might be if decoded...And human reflection on what such an experience might be like...The friendly and rather lonely alien message...Empty is my world...without you ...

The Test I can wade

The Test

I can wade grief,
Whole pools of it,
I 'm used to that.
But the least push of joy
Breaks up my feet,
And I tip drunken.
Let no pebble smile,
'T was the new liquor,
That was all!

Power is only pain,
Stranded, through discipline,
Till weights will hang.
Give balm to giants,
And they 'll wilt, like men.
Give Himmaleh,
They 'll carry him!

"Infinite Dreamer" what do

"Infinite Dreamer"

what do you mean to me?
i don't think that i really know
what am i supposed to be in your world?
am i supposed to be anything at all?
why do i get this feeling?
every time i look your way
is this something to seek?
or should i turn and run for the morning?

times are tough for the lonely tonight
my mind is running in circles around me
times are strange for the infinite dreamer
am i awake or am i just dreaming?

what am i supposed to say?
should i say nothing at all?
who do you see when you see me lately?
do you see me anything at all?
why do i feel this hunger?
coming from your direction
is this something you've reasoned
or will you turn and run for the morning?

times are tough for the lonely tonight
my mind is running in circles around me
times are strange for the infinite dreamer
am i awake or am i just dreaming?

"I Can't Touch You

"I Can't Touch You There"

and i know...what i know
but that's as far as i can go
there's no place...for the dream
in the waking world

and i feel...what i feel
but i can't believe that it is real
there's no place...for a heart
in the waking world

'cause i can't touch you there
all is get is psychic emotion
can't get beyond the door to the floor
or wherever it is you go
'cause i can't touch you there
spotlight would shine on the forbidden lovers
can't reach beyond the wall of my dreams
never know if it is what it seems

and i see...what i see
but that's as close as i can be
there's no place...for my thoughts
in the waking world

i hear...what i hear
but reality is what i fear
there's no place...for that sound
in the waking world

'cause i can't touch you there
all is get is psychic emotion
can't get beyond the door to the floor
or wherever it is you go
'cause i can't touch you there
spotlight would shine on the forbidden lovers
can't reach beyond the wall of my dreams
never know if it is what it seems

i'll have to wait for a day past forever
and even then never...will i know

'cause i can't touch you there
all is get is psychic emotion
can't get beyond the door to the floor
or wherever it is you go
'cause i can't touch you there
spotlight would shine on the forbidden lovers
can't reach beyond the wall of my dreams
never know if it is what it seems

"Just Too Old To Ever Walk

"Just Too Old To Ever Walk The Moon"

something i realized
has torn me up inside
as morning turns to late...late afternoon
all the dreams i had...
the good...the sweet...the grand
there's really not much chance they'll all come true

it hit me hard
it laid me flat
this could be
my last comeback
if no one wants to hear my latest tune
the saddest thought of all
though the dream still comes to call
i'm just too old to ever walk the moon

Love me Sweet, with all thou

Love me Sweet, with all thou art,
Feeling, thinking, seeing;
Love me in the lightest part,
Love me in full being.

II

Love me with thine open youth
In its frank surrender;
With the vowing of thy mouth,
With its silence tender.

III

Love me with thine azure eyes,
Made for earnest grantings;
Taking colour from the skies,
Can Heaven's truth be wanting?

IV

Love me with their lids, that fall
Snow-like at first meeting;
Love me with thine heart, that all
Neighbours then see beating.

V

Love me with thine hand stretched out
Freely -- open-minded:
Love me with thy loitering foot, --
Hearing one behind it.

VI

Love me with thy voice, that turns
Sudden faint above me;
Love me with thy blush that burns
When I murmur 'Love me!'

VII

Love me with thy thinking soul,
Break it to love-sighing;
Love me with thy thoughts that roll
On through living -- dying.

VIII

Love me in thy gorgeous airs,
When the world has crowned thee;
Love me, kneeling at thy prayers,
With the angels round thee.

IX

Love me pure, as muses do,
Up the woodlands shady:
Love me gaily, fast and true,
As a winsome lady.

X

Through all hopes that keep us brave,
Farther off or nigher,
Love me for the house and grave,
And for something higher.

XI

Thus, if thou wilt prove me, Dear,
Woman's love no fable,
I will love thee -- half a year --
As a man is able.

Probably one of the most

Message 22157 in response to message 22140

Probably one of the most loved poems written in the 20th Century. John Chiardi, in his book, "How Does A Poem Mean" lauds the poem as not only extremely complex, but one of the greats of all time.

I agree with you and him.

Quote:

I lurve this one:

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
