Is it just my incompetence or is there a problem with embedding images into forum posts ? Is any one else having trouble ? I use the 'Image' button and enter the correct URL, as tested, but no graphic comes to view. I check the source HTML and the code :
<p><img alt="" src="http://downloads.mikehewson.id.au/radian.jpg" /></p>
... is there but my browser ( Chrome ) doesn't display it.
Cheers, Mike.

To be exact : I check that the HTML generated is in the editing box OK, but the HTML does not appear ( using Chrome's inspect function ) in either preview or when the comment is posted. Maybe something happens on the way to/from the server.
Cheers, Mike.

Two differences: this is a .png rather than a .jpg - but I don't think that is likely to matter. And it's hosted on a server which allows an https connection.
Edit - after fiddling around and inspecting the url manually (so your image is now stored in my Chrome cache) - it now shows properly in your opening post.

I've just discovered that FireFox shows my artistic masterpiece no problemo. So that makes it an issue with Chrome's settings ... and yet I see your BOINC logo in Chrome ....
Thanks Richard.

FWIW : IE shows the image fine. Now using Chrome's developer tools sidebar I discover that despite being a http URL in the HTML img tag, Chrome is issuing a https request instead - which readily fails ( net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID ) as my personal website doesn't have https/certificates etc .... so Sad Panda. I guess I might use FireFox then. ;-()

)
Actually : my website does have SSL and https ability it's just that Chrome reckons the certificate was issued by someone they deem to be bollocks. Chrome from v81 will change the http URL of images to https, called autoupgrading, and it doesn't look like there is a fallback from that.
Cheers, Mike.

FWIW: Chrome does allow for per-site security settings. Just right click on the padlock icon to the left of the website name on the address bar and select "Site settings". A new tab will open with the settings for the site. Then scroll down to "Insecure content" and select "Allow" .... & the http linked images will appear.
Cheers, Mike.

I'm getting BitDefender security issues with your certificate (BD says "untrusted"):
downloads.mikehewson.id.au
Firefox is trying to establish a connection to it.
Seems to be a new problem which I haven't had with your URL sofar ...
Have a nice day and stay safe!
Yep. It comes down to the web

Yep. It comes down to the web server for my domain can't prove that it is who it says it is, and that in turn is because the certificate is untrusted. I think the certificates are self generated by the web hosting service at my ISP.
Cheers, Mike.
