As the initial porter of SETI@home to FreeBSD, you might say I'm especially interested in what the status here is :-)
It would be nice to have Einstein on FreeBSD!
Any thoughts?

Eh, no. Its a true UNIX OS, much like Linux.
In my organization, we run all the file/web/applications servers on FreeBSD.
The most recent versions are FreeBSD5.3R and FreeBSD4.10R.
It also do Linux emulation, but I had no luck with my first try, because
E@H uses a somewhat newer Linux libs that FreeBSD has pr default.
FYI, have a look at http://freebsd.org/

Stein, I'll reply to you privately about this. If you are willing to try a FreeBSD build I'd be happy to support it.
